Terms & Conditions

Please read the following important information regarding your treatment and care at Apex Skin Clinic.

Outpatient Appointments & Consultation Fees

Your initial consultation fee will not exceed £350, and any follow-up consultation will not exceed £250. These fees are accurate at the time of booking and will be confirmed ahead of your appointment.

Following your consultation, you may require investigations such as blood tests or imaging (e.g. X-ray, MRI, CT scan). These may be carried out by the hospital and billed separately, either to you or your private insurer. If any investigations or minor procedures are performed by Apex Skin Clinic directly, you will be advised of any associated charges in advance.

Private Medical Insurance

If you hold private medical insurance, it is essential to contact your insurer before your appointment to confirm your cover and secure pre-authorisation. Not all outpatient fees are fully reimbursed, and any shortfall in payment will be the responsibility of the patient. We will advise you regarding individual clinician insurer recognition before your booking.

Medical Reports, Referrals & Pathology

To avoid delays or repeat appointments, please upload any relevant biopsy results, pathology reports or previous imaging to your Carebit patient portal before your appointment. If you’ve been referred by another healthcare provider, please also share their referral letter.

If you have difficulty uploading your documents, you are welcome to email them to us directly.

Practice Administration & Contact Information

Apex Skin Clinic operates independently of the hospital administration teams. Any information provided by Berkshire Grove Hospital staff may not apply to our clinic.

  1. If you change your personal details, GP or insurance information, please notify Apex Skin Clinic directly, as the hospital does not update our records.

  2. If you require medication, a prescription, or a sick note, please raise this during your consultation.

Our administrative team is not hospital-based, and all information collected is for Apex Skin Clinic’s records.

Follow-Up Appointments

To avoid delay, we recommend booking any follow-up appointment at the time advised by your clinician.

To book, please call us on 020 3871 5898 or email secretaries@apexskinclinic.com

Invoices & Payments

For insured patients, invoices will be sent electronically to your insurer. If a shortfall arises, Apex Skin Clinic will contact you directly.

For self-pay patients, invoices will be sent through the Carebit portal.

For any billing queries, please email our administrative team at secretaries@apexskinclinic.com

Please note: appointments must be cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice. A cancellation fee of up to 50% of the consultation charge, along with a fixed £25 administration fee, may be applied if this is not met.

Clinic Letters & Communication

Clinic letters will be uploaded to your Carebit patient portal within approximately 2–5 working days following your consultation.

We kindly ask that you check your inbox, junk and spam folders for email updates from Apex Skin Clinic.

Delays & Emergencies

We recognise that your time is valuable, and every effort is made to run to schedule. Occasionally, unforeseen circumstances — such as medical emergencies or extended patient needs — may cause delays beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding in such cases.

Financial Interests

Apex Skin Clinic is operated independently by Apex Skin Clinic Ltd. Our consultants do not hold financial interests in third-party diagnostic or treatment services.

Patient Feedback & Quality Information

We welcome feedback to continually improve our services. Independent quality information about private hospitals is available via the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) at www.phin.org.uk.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Our team is here to support you with clarity, professionalism, and care at every step of your journey.
